"Classic Conversions did an excellent job for us transferring old Super 8mm films to both DVD's and USB's. The owner Bob needed to clean and re-splice the films that we had sent to him. Additionally, he also transferred both our own wedding video and our parents' 50th wedding anniversary from VHS tapes to DVD's, besides storing everything as .mp4 files onto USB flash drives for us.

We actually used Classic Conversions approximately 17 years ago when we sent them home movies from my husband's family collection. We were so pleased to learn that they were still doing this work after contacting them about our new project.

It was a pleasure working with Classic Conversions. Bob took the time to confirm exactly how we wanted the project developed at each stage, had excellent suggestions, and would always contact us during the process to keep us updated. There were many reels/cannisters of films, and he followed the sequence that we requested perfectly.

One of the most impressive parts of the project was the addition of background music and some sound effects that were added to the "silent" films that we had. It was surprising how that made a usual boring home movie come to life after so many years!!

The music chosen was perfect for every scene and time period, and the DVD title pages were organized into "Chapters" and "Titles" - which made it easier for us to navigate using the remote control making the viewing very user friendly.

We highly recommend the craftsmanship and professionalism of Classic Conversions at what we considered affordable prices. Our only disappointment was our not having more films and video tapes in storage for them to work on!!!"

"Great experience, We had Classic Conversion transfer over some old family films to dvd. We had no idea what was on them but were pleasantly surprised to soon find out, as they did a great job organizing and transferring everything over for us. The color and quality looked better than expected, and they were even able to organize everything in chronological order. The transfers ended up coming to approximately 90 minutes and the rate was very reasonable for the amount of work that had to be done. "CC made four CD's from tapes made in Dec 1992. There were at least 9 audio tapes that were choppy, disjointed and amateurish. The owner Bob organized the material, edited it, and even made cases for the cd's with appropriate graphics.   Second job: Edited ancient family tapes, organized the material, improved quality. I located a tape of my late husband singing with a friend,harmonizing, playing their guitars and I can even hear the fire crackling in the fireplace behind them.   Another tape had a group of dear relatives sitting around the table  while my father and mother, a couple of my aunts and uncles, my brother and my sister-in-law, and my husband shared our unique brand of family humor while the parents and uncles related stories from the past. Except for my brother and his wife all of those people are now deceased, and it was so special to hear those voices again and again... Everything about this experience has been positive."

"I am grateful beyond words for Bob's work at Classic Conversions in what became for me a difficult emotional journey through the decades (the 1950s through the 2000s), as we chronicled our family history on 8mm movies, VHS tapes, slides and still photographs - shortly after my mother's passing in October 2017. I would soon be flying to back to the family home in Wyckoff, New Jersey for a two-week trip, and be sorting through years of accumulated memories, all in preparation for my mother's upcoming memorial service and family reunion. I had originally initiated this project with a local company where I live in California, but it had turned out to be a great disappointment, as they did not provide the services advertised. I could tell that they didn't really care, that I was just another client, and it was obviously reflected in their work (they didn't even clean up the footage as promised, which turned out to be an extra fee that I paid for, but service never received).

I found Bob at Classic Conversions online, and in the process of further researching his services and speaking with him in person, discovered that apparently here was someone that was proven competent in handling these types of projects, and grew increasingly confident that he would be able to handle mine, one which was definitely going to be VERY time sensitive and challenging, with a lot of 8mm footage to review, sort through and be arranged in correct chronological sequences, plus be given a thorough and much needed clean-up. I explained that we had boxes of 8mm home movies, slides, snapshots, etc. stored in the attic of our family home with some descriptions on some of the boxes, but many more that were blank mysteries that yet needed to be solved? I would review the boxes the night I arrived in New Jersey, hoping that I would be able to bring these items to Bob at his studio early the next day, whereupon I informed him that I would be needing a DVD finalized in time for the family reunion in 12 days. Admittedly this was an extraordinary amount of work to be done in such a short period of time!

Once we got together to review the material (and much to my surprise), I became unexpectedly emotional, and appreciative not only of Bob's support, but knowing that he understood how meaningful (and at the same time how difficult) an endeavor this was for me.

In the days that followed I became so preoccupied with emptying out our family home, preparing for the memorial, etc. that I had to consult with Bob either by email and phone in order to answer his questions regarding my family timeline, ID certain family members, and in general help fill-in the blanks, etc. He accommodated my request to use his best judgment for editing, concentrating on select choice footage, and keep the final product contained to within 50 minutes as I had requested. He impeccably reviewed, edited, and revised all the material, while improving the overall quality in the process - in the end finalizing the finished product as both a DVD and online presentation via Youtube, which made it possible for family members (who had still yet to arrive) to view it while still in transit to Wyckoff, N.J.

I was truly impressed and grateful for Bob offering me much of his time, understanding, and support for a project as complex and emotional as this one was.

As a side note, I was truly amazed at his very reasonable prices, so I had to give him a bonus for that as well. I have already recommended Classic Conversions to my friends in Bergen County, and after returning to California, Bob and I continued to work together on yet another memorable although less significant project, finishing up in time to commemorate what would've been my dad's 97th birthday in early November. In sum, Bob's efforts at Classic Conversions helped me during a most difficult time in more ways than I can begin to describe, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with the final results and the way everything had turned out."
